Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Healthcare Data Clerk with a strong medical focus to join our 100% remote team. This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our healthcare data, supporting various medical and administrative functions. The ideal candidate will be proficient in data entry, verification, and basic data analysis within a healthcare context, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. This position offers the flexibility of working entirely from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately input, update, and maintain patient records, medical codes, and other healthcare-related data into designated systems.
- Verify data for completeness and accuracy, identifying and correcting discrepancies.
- Process and organize medical documentation, including patient charts, lab results, and diagnostic reports.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines and other data privacy regulations.
- Assist in generating reports and extracting data for analysis as needed.
- Communicate effectively with other team members to resolve data-related issues.
- Perform routine data audits to ensure data quality and integrity.
Required Skills
- Excellent data entry speed and accuracy.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding (e.g., ICD-10, CPT).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Health Information Technology, Medical Office Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Familiarity with healthcare data analytics tools.
- Certification in medical coding or health information management.
