Job Description
As a Remote Web Search Quality Analyst at Appen, you will play a crucial role in improving the quality and relevance of leading search engine results. This 100% remote position offers the flexibility of working from home, allowing you to contribute to cutting-edge AI development from anywhere in the UK. Your primary responsibility will be to evaluate search queries and web page results, providing feedback on their accuracy, relevance, and overall quality according to specific guidelines. Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate web search results based on specific, evolving guidelines provided by the client.
- Assess the relevance, accuracy, and usefulness of search engine results for various queries across different media types.
- Provide detailed written feedback and ratings for web pages, images, videos, and other content, articulating reasoning clearly.
- Identify and report on current trends, anomalies, and potential issues in web search and user behavior patterns.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project guidelines in all evaluations.
- Adhere strictly to project confidentiality agreements and data security protocols.
- Manage workload effectively to meet weekly project targets and deadlines.
Required Skills
- Excellent understanding of English language and culture, particularly current events, pop culture, and media.
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to follow complex, multi-layered instructions and guidelines meticulously.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a personal computer (laptop/desktop).
- Proficiency with web browsers, search engines, and common online tools.
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
- Residency in the United Kingdom for at least the past 5 consecutive years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with search engine evaluation, data annotation, or content moderation.
- Familiarity with various online research tools and methodologies.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field.
