Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and efficient Onion Peeling Operative to join our busy food processing factory in Kincardine, Fife. This hands-on role is critical to our production line, ensuring that our onions are perfectly prepared for our various product lines. The ideal candidate will be reliable, able to follow strict hygiene and safety protocols, and comfortable working in a fast-paced factory environment. Full training will be provided, and this role offers weekly pay.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor automated onion peeling machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Perform manual peeling and trimming of onions as required, ensuring high quality and minimal waste.
  • Conduct quality checks on peeled onions, removing any imperfections.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Assist with loading and unloading produce onto the production line.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or product quality issues to the supervisor.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production targets.

Required Skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a factory or production environment.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene principles (training provided).
  • Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a food processing or manufacturing setting.
  • Current Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 1 or 2).
