Job Description
Join our dedicated team as a Large Sectional Sofa Assembly Specialist. This role is crucial for ensuring our customers receive expertly assembled furniture, reflecting the quality and care Crate & Barrel stands for. You will be responsible for the precise and efficient assembly of large sectional sofas, often at customer residences or our distribution centers. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering a premium customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble various models of large sectional sofas according to manufacturer specifications and diagrams.
- Utilize a range of hand and power tools safely and efficiently to ensure secure and stable construction.
- Inspect all components for defects or damage prior to assembly and report any issues promptly.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company guidelines during all assembly tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, whether at a customer's home or a company facility.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions and addressing concerns professionally during on-site assemblies.
- Ensure complete customer satisfaction with the assembled product.
- Manage time effectively to complete assemblies within scheduled timeframes.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with common assembly tools (drills, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.).
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions and diagrams accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to lift and maneuver heavy furniture components (up to 75 lbs).
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Customer-focused attitude with strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in furniture assembly, carpentry, or a related trade.
- Experience with large item assembly, particularly upholstered furniture.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation (asset for potential travel to customer sites).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
