Job Description
Are you passionate about wellness and eager to master the art of deep tissue massage? Strom Spa Nordique is seeking a highly motivated and physically capable individual to join our team as a Deep Tissue Apprentice. This is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with little to no prior experience to embark on a hands-on learning journey, guided by our expert therapists. You will develop specialized techniques in deep tissue therapy, focusing on muscle recovery, tension release, and overall client well-being. This role is physically demanding, requiring strength, stamina, and a commitment to continuous learning, but offers significant earning potential upon successful completion of the apprenticeship and certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Shadow and assist senior massage therapists during deep tissue sessions.
- Actively participate in theoretical and practical training modules focused on anatomy, physiology, and deep tissue techniques.
- Develop and refine hands-on skills through practice sessions under direct supervision.
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met.
- Maintain a professional and empathetic demeanor when interacting with clients.
- Assist with client intake and post-treatment care instructions.
- Adhere to all spa policies, procedures, and health regulations.
- Commit to a rigorous training schedule and demonstrate continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Strong physical stamina and dexterity for prolonged standing and massage application.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A genuine interest in health, wellness, and therapeutic practices.
- Reliability and strong work ethic.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new techniques.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset.
