Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Medical Transcriptionist to join our remote team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in medical transcription or for those with foundational experience looking for a 100% remote work model. You will be responsible for accurately transcribing dictated medical reports, patient histories, and other healthcare documents from audio files, ensuring precision and adherence to medical terminology and formatting guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe dictated medical reports, patient histories, and other clinical documents from audio recordings.
- Ensure all transcribed documents adhere to medical, legal, and ethical standards, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Proofread and edit transcribed reports for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and clarity before final submission.
- Identify and flag inconsistencies, errors, or discrepancies in medical dictation.
- Utilize medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes knowledge to ensure accurate transcriptions.
- Manage workload efficiently to meet deadlines and turnaround times.
Required Skills
- Excellent English grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Strong listening skills and ability to concentrate for extended periods.
- High level of typing speed and accuracy (minimum 60 WPM).
- Familiarity with various word processing software and transcription platforms.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized Medical Transcription program or certification (e.g., AHDI).
- Previous experience in a healthcare administrative role or data entry.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Experience with specific transcription software (e.g., Express Scribe, M-Modal).
