Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Brass Teacher with a strong focus on Trumpet and Trombone to join our faculty for weekend classes. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated musician and educator to inspire students of varying ages and skill levels. You will be responsible for providing engaging and effective private and group lessons, helping students master their instruments, understand music theory, and prepare for live performances. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective private and group lessons in trumpet and trombone.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and skill levels.
  • Teach fundamental techniques, music theory, sight-reading, and performance skills.
  • Prepare students for recitals, concerts, and other performance opportunities.
  • Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to foster student growth and confidence.
  • Maintain a positive, supportive, and motivating learning environment.
  • Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding progress and goals.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members on curriculum development and school events.
  • Adhere to School of Rock's curriculum guidelines and teaching philosophies.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in playing both trumpet and trombone.
  • Demonstrated experience in music instruction for various age groups.
  • Strong understanding of brass pedagogy and music theory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Reliability and punctuality for weekend scheduling.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Performance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching in a music school or academy setting.
  • Familiarity with contemporary music styles and performance practices.
  • Experience with ensemble coaching or directing.
