Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Remote IT Specialist to join our global support team. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our internal network infrastructure and software systems for employees working remotely across various time zones. As an IT Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for technical issues, providing expert support, troubleshooting, and resolution for network connectivity, hardware, software applications, and security-related incidents. You will play a vital role in maintaining high productivity for our remote workforce by delivering efficient and effective IT solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first and second-level technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues via remote tools, phone, and chat.
- Diagnose and resolve network connectivity problems, including VPN, Wi-Fi, and remote access configurations.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and a wide range of business applications.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various internal systems.
- Assist with security incidents, including malware detection, data recovery, and adherence to company security policies.
- Document technical procedures, solutions, and knowledge base articles for common issues.
- Collaborate with senior IT staff and other departments to escalate and resolve complex technical problems.
- Participate in remote IT projects, including software deployments, system upgrades, and hardware refreshes.
- Educate users on best practices for IT security and efficient use of company technology.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues to prevent disruptions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in IT support, help desk, or technical support roles.
- Strong knowledge of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Experience with common business applications (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft 365).
- Understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially in a remote environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Customer-focused mindset with a dedication to providing high-quality support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) tools.
- Experience supporting remote work technologies and collaboration tools.
- Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.
