Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Luxury Brand Translator with a strong focus on fashion to join our remote team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for translating and transcreating high-quality content that captures the essence and tone of the Burberry brand for our international markets. This is a remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to a globally recognized luxury brand. You will ensure linguistic accuracy, cultural relevance, and brand consistency across all translated materials, from product descriptions and marketing campaigns to website content and press releases.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate, localize, and transcreate a wide range of fashion and luxury brand content (e.g., product descriptions, marketing campaigns, editorial pieces, website copy, social media) from English into target languages.
- Ensure all translated content maintains Burberry’s distinctive brand voice, tone, and style, while being culturally appropriate and impactful for the target audience.
- Conduct thorough linguistic reviews and quality assurance on translated materials to guarantee accuracy, grammar, and consistency.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, e-commerce, and product teams to understand content requirements and strategic objectives.
- Manage terminology glossaries and style guides to ensure consistency across all translated assets.
- Utilize translation memory (TM) and terminology management systems (TMS) effectively.
- Stay updated on fashion trends, luxury industry developments, and language nuances in target markets.
- Provide linguistic feedback and support to external translation vendors as needed.
Required Skills
- Native-level fluency in at least two target languages (e.g., French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Simplified Chinese) in addition to English.
- Proven experience as a professional translator, specifically within the luxury fashion industry.
- Exceptional linguistic skills, including impeccable grammar, syntax, and cultural understanding.
- Strong understanding of luxury brand communication and marketing principles.
- Proficiency in CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools (e.g., Trados Studio, MemoQ, Memsource).
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate translations.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Fashion Communication, or a related field.
- Experience with transcreation, adapting marketing messages for cultural resonance rather than just direct translation.
- Familiarity with various content management systems (CMS) and e-commerce platforms.
- Demonstrated portfolio of luxury fashion translation work.
- Ability to translate into multiple language pairs.
- Experience working with remote international teams.
