Job Description
Are you a dedicated cycle enthusiast with a knack for keeping bikes in pristine condition? Halfords in Wrexham is looking for a skilled and passionate individual to join our team as a Bicycle Maintenance & Valet. In this role, you will be responsible for the expert repair, servicing, and valeting of a wide range of bicycles, from mountain bikes to road bikes and electric bikes. You’ll ensure every bike leaves our workshop looking and performing its best, providing an outstanding experience for our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to turn your passion into a profession, working with a variety of models and sharing your expertise with fellow cycling enthusiasts.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and safety checks on all types of bicycles.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and provide accurate repair recommendations to customers.
- Conduct thorough valeting services, ensuring bikes are cleaned and presented to a high standard.
- Assemble new bicycles and prepare them for sale.
- Manage workshop inventory and order necessary parts.
- Provide excellent customer service, offering advice and technical support on bicycle care and maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
- Stay updated with the latest bicycle technology and maintenance techniques.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in bicycle maintenance and repair.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- A genuine passion for cycling and bicycle mechanics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cytech Level 2 or equivalent bicycle mechanic qualification.
- Experience with electric bikes (e-bikes) and their specific maintenance requirements.
- Previous experience in a retail or workshop environment.
- Knowledge of various bicycle brands and components.
