Job Description
Vigor Industrial is seeking dedicated and hardworking Shipyard / Dockyard Workers to join our team in Bremerton, WA. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in the maritime industry, with comprehensive visa support available for qualified international candidates. As a Shipyard / Dockyard Worker, you will perform a variety of essential tasks supporting shipbuilding, repair, and maintenance operations. Your contribution will be vital to ensuring the timely and safe completion of projects, working alongside skilled tradespeople in a dynamic industrial environment. Safety is our top priority, and all team members are expected to adhere strictly to all safety protocols and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled trades (e.g., welders, electricians, pipefitters, mechanics) with various tasks.
- Perform general labor duties including material handling, rigging, grinding, cleaning, and painting.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, disposing of waste properly.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental guidelines.
- Prepare surfaces for welding, painting, or other processes.
- Move equipment and materials using forklifts, cranes, or other lifting devices (certification may be required or provided).
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, bending, and climbing.
- Basic understanding of industrial safety practices.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and environments (indoors/outdoors, confined spaces, heights).
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Team-oriented attitude with good communication skills.
- Eligibility for visa sponsorship and willingness to relocate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a shipyard, construction, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment.
- Familiarity with marine terminology or vessel structures.
- Certification in forklift operation, rigging, or confined space entry.
