Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced WFH Payroll Administrator to join our internal corporate support team. This 100% remote position is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced virtual environment. You will play a key role in maintaining payroll records, processing changes, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process multi-state bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls accurately and on time for a large employee base.
- Verify and input payroll data, including hours worked, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
- Manage and maintain employee payroll records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports for internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and company policies.
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless integration of data.
- Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and reporting.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and best practices.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in payroll administration.
- Proficiency with major payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paychex).
- Strong understanding of federal and state payroll regulations and tax laws.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is a plus.
- Experience with multi-state payroll processing.
- Previous experience in a large corporate or BPO environment.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems.
