Job Description
We are seeking highly detail-oriented and analytical individuals to join our team as Retail Store Auditors. In this critical role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive audits of retail store operations across various locations to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards. This position requires regular travel within assigned zip codes to assess inventory controls, financial transactions, operational efficiency, and adherence to safety and security protocols. Successful candidates will possess strong observation skills, integrity, and the ability to work independently to identify discrepancies and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular, unannounced audits of retail stores within assigned geographic areas.
- Verify accuracy of inventory records, cash handling procedures, and financial transactions.
- Evaluate store operations for compliance with company policies, merchandising standards, and operational guidelines.
- Identify and document areas of non-compliance, potential loss, or inefficiency.
- Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, observations, and recommendations.
- Communicate audit results effectively to store management and regional leadership.
- Follow up on audit findings to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Provide training and guidance to store associates on best practices and compliance issues.
- Maintain confidentiality of all audit information and company data.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in retail operations, auditing, or a related field.
- Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and draw conclusions.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel extensively within assigned zip codes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Previous experience as a retail auditor or loss prevention specialist.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and point-of-sale (POS) software.
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or similar professional certification.
