Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Dietitian / Clinical Nutritionist to join our dynamic healthcare team in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This vital role involves assessing the nutritional needs of patients, developing personalized nutrition plans, and providing comprehensive dietary counseling. You will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes across various clinical settings. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients with a variety of health conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized medical nutrition therapy plans based on patient needs, medical history, and cultural preferences.
- Provide one-on-one and group nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition interventions, making adjustments as necessary.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic health records.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to integrate nutrition care into overall treatment plans.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities.
- Adhere to all regulatory standards and ethical guidelines for dietetic practice.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential, or eligibility to sit for the RDN exam.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Dietitian in Florida.
- Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy for various disease states.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and counseling skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience as a clinical dietitian in an acute care or outpatient setting.
- Experience with a diverse patient population.
- Specialty certification (e.g., CDE, CNSC, CSG, CSP) is a plus.
- Bilingual skills (especially Spanish) are highly desirable.
