Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Cybersecurity Data Annotator to join our remote team. In this critical role, you will play a pivotal part in enhancing our cybersecurity systems by accurately labeling and categorizing various data points related to security threats, vulnerabilities, and network activities. This is a 100% remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge security intelligence from anywhere. Your work will directly support the development and improvement of AI and machine learning models used to detect and prevent cyberattacks.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and annotate diverse cybersecurity datasets, including network logs, malware samples, security alerts, and threat intelligence reports.
- Apply predefined annotation guidelines consistently to ensure high data quality and accuracy.
- Identify and escalate ambiguities or inconsistencies in data or guidelines to the team lead.
- Participate in calibration sessions to ensure uniformity in annotation practices.
- Provide feedback on annotation tools and guidelines to improve efficiency and clarity.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to data security protocols.
- Collaborate with a remote team of annotators and cybersecurity experts.
- Meet daily and weekly annotation targets while maintaining quality standards.
Required Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, terminology, and common threats (e.g., phishing, malware, DDoS).
- Proficiency in using data annotation tools and software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in data annotation, particularly with technical or cybersecurity data.
- Familiarity with various data types such as JSON, XML, or log files.
- Relevant certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+).
- A degree or equivalent experience in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
