Job Description
FedEx Freight is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Dock Supervisor to join our team in Queens, New York. This entry-level leadership role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in logistics and operations management. As a Junior Dock Supervisor, you will be instrumental in overseeing daily dock operations, ensuring efficient freight handling, and maintaining safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising and coordinating the activities of dockworkers, ensuring timely and accurate loading/unloading of freight.
- Monitor freight flow and equipment utilization to optimize dock productivity.
- Enforce safety regulations and company policies to maintain a secure working environment.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and briefings with dock personnel.
- Provide initial training and ongoing guidance to new and existing team members.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and collaborate with senior supervisors to find effective solutions.
- Complete necessary paperwork and data entry related to freight movement and employee performance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for dock operations.
