Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Google Documentation Clerk with an engineering focus to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, organizing, and improving documentation related to Google’s engineering projects and internal tools. This is a critical support role that ensures our technical teams have access to accurate, up-to-date, and well-structured information. The ideal candidate will have an aptitude for understanding technical concepts and a passion for creating clear, concise documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain existing Google-related engineering documentation, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Categorize, tag, and index documents for easy retrieval by engineering teams.
- Review technical documentation for clarity, completeness, and adherence to company and Google standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts to gather information and update documentation.
- Assist in the creation of new documentation templates and best practices.
- Manage document version control and archiving processes.
- Provide administrative support for documentation platforms and tools.
- Identify opportunities for documentation improvement and process efficiency.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to understand and interpret technical information.
- Familiarity with documentation principles and best practices.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in a related field (e.g., Technical Communication, Information Science).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) or document management systems.
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle.
- Experience working with engineering teams or in a technology-focused environment.
