Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Government Building Janitor to join our team in Valdosta, GA. This full-time position offers secure employment with a focus on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene within government facilities. As a vital member of our team, you will ensure a professional and sanitary environment for employees and visitors. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and waxing floors.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, and fixtures.
- Empty trash receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors.
- Dust furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces.
- Restock supplies in restrooms and other areas as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals responsibly.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Operate various cleaning equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and vacuum cleaners.
Required Skills
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products and techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and a thorough approach to tasks.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds, stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Must be able to pass a background check for government facility access.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in janitorial or custodial services, particularly in government or commercial settings.
- Familiarity with operating floor cleaning equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
