Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport patients safely and courteously between wards, departments, and other areas of the hospital.
  • Move equipment, specimens, medical records, and supplies as required.
  • Assist with the transfer of patients from trolleys to beds and vice-versa, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of trolleys, wheelchairs, and other portering equipment.
  • Respond promptly to requests for portering services via radio or other communication systems.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, infection control policies, and hospital procedures.
  • Provide compassionate support and reassurance to patients during transport.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
