Job Description

Are you looking to kickstart a rewarding career in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry? British Gas is seeking enthusiastic and motivated HVAC Installation Assistants to join our growing team in Ilford, Redbridge. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, gaining practical skills and contributing to the installation of modern HVAC systems in residential and commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior HVAC engineers with the installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Learn to identify and use various tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Prepare work sites, including setting up equipment, ensuring safety protocols, and cleaning up upon completion.
  • Handle and transport materials and tools to and from job sites.
  • Support the testing and commissioning of newly installed systems.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work vehicle and equipment.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and supervisors.

Required Skills

  • A strong willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work as part of a team.
  • Good physical condition, capable of lifting, carrying, and working in various environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a manual labour or construction role is a plus, but not essential.
