Job Description
Join Elis as a Laundry Attendant in our state-of-the-art industrial facility in Colchester. This role is crucial for the seamless operation of our textile processing, ensuring all items are handled with care and efficiency, meeting our rigorous quality standards. You will be responsible for routine tasks within a fast-paced industrial environment, contributing to the delivery of essential services to our diverse client base. We value reliability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to work. While prior experience in an industrial setting is beneficial, a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are paramount. Key Responsibilities
- Operating industrial laundry machinery including washers, dryers, and ironers.
- Sorting and categorising textiles (linens, workwear, mats) according to type and required treatment.
- Loading and unloading machines safely and efficiently.
- Inspecting items for damage or stains before and after processing.
- Folding, stacking, and preparing finished textiles for dispatch.
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area.
- Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Reporting any equipment malfunctions or textile quality issues to supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 20kg).
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a laundry, warehouse, or industrial production environment.
