Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Long-Term Care (LTC) Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Wesley Chapel, FL. This role offers stable, steady work in a fast-paced pharmacy environment, focusing exclusively on the behind-the-scenes processing and dispensing of medications for long-term care residents. If you thrive in a production-oriented setting and prefer tasks that do not involve direct customer or patient interaction, this is an ideal opportunity for you. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and efficient preparation of prescriptions, contributing directly to patient care without the distractions of a retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately interpret and process prescriptions received from long-term care facilities.
  • Prepare and package medications, including oral solids, liquids, and controlled substances, according to established procedures and regulatory guidelines.
  • Utilize automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software for prescription entry and tracking.
  • Maintain inventory, conduct cycle counts, and assist with ordering and receiving pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists to resolve discrepancies and ensure medication accuracy.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Active Pharmacy Technician license/registration in Florida (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, production-focused environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in a long-term care, hospital, or high-volume closed-door pharmacy setting.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) through PTCB or NHA.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy management software (e.g., FrameworkLTC, RxConnect).
