Job Description

PMT Professional Music Technology in Norwich is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Musical Instrument Sales Advisor to join our dynamic team. This commission-based role requires a hands-on approach, demonstrating products, offering expert advice, and building lasting relationships with our diverse customer base. Key Responsibilities
- Engage customers in-store, actively listening to their needs and recommending suitable musical instruments and accessories.
- Demonstrate a wide range of guitars, keyboards, amplifiers, and related products with proficiency.
- Provide expert advice on product features, specifications, and compatibility, guiding customers through their purchasing decisions.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including managing cash, card, and finance options.
- Achieve and exceed individual sales targets and contribute to overall store performance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor, ensuring products are well-displayed and priced.
- Stay up-to-date with new product releases, industry trends, and competitor offerings.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving stock, merchandising, and conducting stock counts.
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Actively participate in in-store events, workshops, and product launches.
Required Skills
- Proven proficiency in playing both guitar and keyboard instruments.
- Strong passion for musical instruments and music technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to connect with customers.
- Previous experience in a sales or customer service role, preferably within retail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Results-driven with a strong desire to achieve sales targets.
- Basic computer literacy for point-of-sale systems and inventory management.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in musical instrument retail.
- In-depth knowledge of various guitar brands, models, and accessories.
- Extensive understanding of keyboard synthesizers, digital pianos, and controllers.
- Experience with live sound equipment or recording studio gear.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and e-commerce platforms.
- Formal music education or advanced practical experience.
