Job Description

Are you passionate about providing nurturing care to newborns and supporting new families? Covenant Health is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Newborn Care Associates. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist nurses with the daily care of newborns, including feeding, changing, and comforting.
  • Monitor newborn vital signs and report any concerns to nursing staff.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized nursery environment.
  • Provide support and education to new parents under the guidance of healthcare professionals.
  • Document care activities accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure all supplies are stocked and readily available.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Exceptional empathy and compassion for infants and their families.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively in a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift infants as required for the role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a caregiving role (e.g., childcare, elder care) is a plus but not required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (training can be provided upon hire).
  • Knowledge of basic infant care principles.
