Hormel Foods is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nut Roasting Facility Assistant to join our team in Overland Park, Kansas. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the loading and unloading of raw nuts into roasting machinery, adhering to safety protocols.
- Monitor roasting processes, temperatures, and equipment to ensure product quality and consistency.
- Perform basic equipment operation, cleaning, and sanitation duties in accordance with food safety standards.
- Package roasted nuts according to production specifications, ensuring accurate labeling and quality standards.
- Adhere to all food safety guidelines, quality control procedures, and company policies, including HACCP and GMP.
- Support the production team in various tasks as needed to maintain efficient operations and meet daily targets.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift, ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a warm and physically demanding environment for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn new skills.
- Basic understanding of safety protocols in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly and stand for long durations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or food production setting (even if entry-level).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Forklift certification or willingness to be trained and certified (training provided on-site).
