Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and physically capable Pallet Stacker to join our heavy-duty logistics picking team in Sheffield. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient stacking and movement of heavy goods and pallets within our state-of-the-art warehouse facility. This position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently stack pallets with heavy goods, ensuring stability and optimal use of space.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment to move stacked pallets to designated areas.
- Perform accurate picking and packing tasks according to order specifications.
- Conduct quality checks on products and pallets before and after stacking and movement.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and equipment operation.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, reporting any hazards or equipment malfunctions.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily productivity and operational goals.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse duties as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy items repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for accurate record-keeping.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, particularly with heavy lifting.
- Experience operating a pallet jack or other material handling equipment.
- Forklift certification (though not strictly required for this role, it is a plus).
