Job Description

Join Comfort Keepers as a Private Motorist with a focus on non-medical senior care. This vital role involves providing safe and reliable transportation for our senior clients, enabling them to attend appointments, run errands, and participate in social activities. Beyond driving, you will offer compassionate companionship and assistance with various non-medical needs, ensuring our clients maintain their independence and quality of life. We are seeking individuals who are not only excellent drivers but also possess a kind heart, patience, and a genuine desire to care for others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport senior clients to and from appointments, errands, social events, and other destinations.
  • Assist clients with getting in and out of the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversation during drives and while waiting.
  • Assist with grocery shopping and other errands, including carrying bags as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained personal vehicle for client transportation.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and Comfort Keepers safety protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and Comfort Keepers staff regarding scheduling and client needs.
  • Document mileage and services provided accurately.

Required Skills

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proof of auto insurance and reliable personal vehicle.
  • Excellent knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns in Lancaster, PA.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a compassionate demeanor.
  • Ability to assist clients with mobility challenges (e.g., helping them walk short distances, get in/out of car).
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in senior care, caregiving, or a similar role.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Familiarity with non-medical senior care needs.
  • Flexible schedule availability.
