Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Returns Clerk to join our e-commerce operations team in Cedar Rapids, IA. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently processing returned merchandise from our online customers, ensuring accuracy, quality control, and proper re-stocking or disposition. This position plays a crucial part in maintaining customer satisfaction and optimizing inventory management within our fast-paced e-commerce environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and process returned e-commerce merchandise according to established company policies and procedures.
- Verify product condition, quantity, and match items to return authorizations and customer order information.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to accurately log returns, process exchanges, and issue credits.
- Identify and separate damaged or defective items for appropriate disposition (repair, salvage, or disposal).
- Prepare items for re-stocking, ensuring proper labeling and packaging.
- Communicate effectively with customer service and inventory teams regarding discrepancies or complex return issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company guidelines.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and system navigation.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, retail, or e-commerce returns environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software.
- Experience operating basic warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jack, hand cart).
