Job Description
Join The Orchard’s dynamic finance team as a Royalty Collections Analyst. This remote-first role is critical in ensuring the accurate and timely collection of royalty revenues from various global sources. You will be instrumental in reconciling accounts, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining strong relationships with partners. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of financial principles, particularly in a royalty-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and track incoming royalty statements and payments from digital service providers, collection societies, and other partners.
- Perform detailed analysis and reconciliation of royalty data to identify discrepancies and underpayments.
- Proactively investigate and resolve collection issues, working cross-functionally with legal, business development, and operations teams.
- Prepare and present regular reports on collection status, outstanding balances, and key performance indicators.
- Maintain accurate records of all royalty collection activities and communications within the financial systems.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of royalty collection processes and systems.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures related to royalty income.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in financial analysis, accounts receivable, or royalty administration (2+ years).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, advanced formulas).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with royalty management software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Familiarity with the music or entertainment industry's royalty structures and licensing models.
- Knowledge of international currency exchange and cross-border transactions.
