Job Description
Are you looking for a unique opportunity to make a real impact on customer experience this summer? Tesco is seeking enthusiastic and observant individuals to join our team as Summer Break Mystery Shoppers for a 3-month seasonal contract in Darlington. This role is perfect for those who have a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for customer service. You will play a crucial part in evaluating our store environments, service quality, and overall customer journey, providing invaluable feedback that helps us maintain our high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct discreet and objective visits to assigned Tesco stores within the Darlington area.
- Rigorously evaluate specific aspects of the store visit based on a predefined set of criteria, including cleanliness, staff interaction, product availability, merchandising, and queue times.
- Make small, predetermined purchases as required during visits (expenses will be reimbursed).
- Complete detailed and comprehensive online reports within 24 hours of each visit, providing clear, objective feedback and observations.
- Strictly adhere to all project guidelines, instructions, and deadlines provided by the programme coordinator.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality regarding all findings, assignments, and proprietary information.
- Provide constructive and actionable feedback to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
- Exceptional observational skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong written communication skills for producing clear, concise, and accurate reports.
- Ability to follow complex instructions precisely and consistently.
- Highly reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently.
- Access to reliable transportation for travel to various store locations.
- Basic proficiency in using computers and navigating online reporting platforms.

- Previous experience in mystery shopping, quality assurance, or customer service evaluation roles.
- Familiarity with the Tesco brand and an understanding of retail store environments.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.
