Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Swimming Pool Excavation Shoveler to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position is crucial to the initial stages of pool construction, primarily involving manual digging, trenching, and ground preparation for new swimming pool installations. The ideal candidate will be reliable, safety-conscious, and possess a strong work ethic, ready to contribute to creating exceptional outdoor living environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual excavation and digging for swimming pool foundations, trenches, and utility lines.
  • Operate hand tools such as shovels, picks, and rakes efficiently and safely.
  • Assist heavy equipment operators with ground preparation and material movement.
  • Ensure proper grading and leveling of excavated areas according to project specifications.
  • Load and unload materials and equipment as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work site, including proper disposal of debris.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Perform other labor-intensive tasks as assigned to support construction activities.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Punctuality and a positive attitude.
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in landscaping, construction, or a similar physically demanding role.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of various hand tools and their proper use.
  • Ability to operate basic power tools.
  • First Aid certification is an asset.
