Job Description

As a UPS Knowledge Graph Associate with a data focus, you will be instrumental in developing, maintaining, and analyzing knowledge graphs that model UPS’s complex operational data. This 100% remote role requires a strong understanding of data structures, semantic web technologies, and data analysis to extract insights and support data-driven decision-making across various departments. You will work closely with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to transform raw data into actionable knowledge representations, enhancing efficiency and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain knowledge graphs using semantic web technologies (RDF, OWL, SPARQL).
  • Integrate diverse datasets from various sources into a unified knowledge model.
  • Perform complex data analysis on knowledge graph data to identify patterns, relationships, and anomalies.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data quality, integrity, and scalability of the knowledge graph platform.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into knowledge graph solutions.
  • Develop and implement data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes for knowledge graph population.
  • Create visualizations and reports to communicate insights derived from the knowledge graph.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in knowledge graph technology and data science.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in data modeling, database design, and query languages (SQL, SPARQL).
  • Experience with graph databases (e.g., Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, ArangoDB).
  • Strong programming skills in Python for data manipulation and scripting.
  • Understanding of semantic web technologies (RDF, OWL).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) for data storage and processing.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with machine learning techniques applied to graph data.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Knowledge of logistics or supply chain operations.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
