Job Description
Sysco Kansas City is seeking a dedicated and efficient Wholesale Order Picker with a focus on Bulk Goods to join our warehouse team in Olathe, KS. In this critical role, you will be responsible for accurately and safely selecting bulk food and supply products from warehouse shelves, ensuring orders are correctly assembled for timely delivery to our diverse customer base. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick bulk orders using voice-picking systems or handheld scanners.
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) in a safe and efficient manner.
- Verify product accuracy, quantity, and quality against order sheets.
- Stage completed orders in designated areas for loading.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Assist with inventory control and stock rotation as needed.
- Lift and move heavy products, often weighing 50+ pounds, repeatedly throughout a shift.
Required Skills
- Ability to accurately read, count, and perform basic math.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs consistently, occasionally more).
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to warehouse procedures.
- Reliable transportation to and from the Olathe, KS facility.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment.
- Experience operating pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with voice-picking systems or RF scanners.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
