Job Description
Join the XPO Logistics team in Round Rock, TX as a Yard Spotter / Switcher. We are seeking a dedicated and safety-focused individual to manage the movement of trailers within our yard and docks. This full-time position offers immediate hire for a Monday to Friday schedule, ensuring a consistent work-life balance. You will be a critical part of our operations, ensuring the efficient flow of goods and supporting our transportation goals. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently move trailers from yard to dock doors and vice versa.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of yard hostler and trailers.
- Maintain an organized and clean yard environment.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse personnel, and drivers.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks on equipment as needed.
- Document trailer movements and yard inventory accurately.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A CDL (Commercial Driver's License)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience operating a yard hostler or similar heavy equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to safety procedures and regulations.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including climbing, bending, and lifting.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in a fast-paced logistics or distribution environment.
- Familiarity with yard management systems (YMS).
