Job Description
Are you a motivated 15-year-old looking for your first paid job experience? Stumptown Coffee Roasters in the Pearl District is offering an exciting opportunity for early risers to join our team as a Barista. This role includes comprehensive paid training to teach you everything you need to know about coffee preparation, customer service, and cafe operations. You’ll gain valuable work experience, develop new skills, and become an integral part of our morning crew, helping us deliver exceptional coffee and service to our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in paid training sessions to learn all aspects of barista duties and cafe operations.
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and espresso drinks, following Stumptown's quality standards.
- Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately, including opening procedures.
- Provide friendly, prompt, and exceptional customer service during early morning shifts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including coffee equipment and serving areas.
- Assist with stocking inventory and preparing ingredients as needed.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth cafe operations.
Required Skills
- Must be 15 years old and eligible to work with appropriate work permits (if required by law).
- Reliable and punctual, especially for early morning shifts.
- Eagerness to learn and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions.
