Job Description

Are you a detail-oriented individual with a knack for assembly and a passion for helping people? IKEA is seeking an IKEA Media Unit Aide to join our team in Plymouth. In this crucial role, you will work directly with clients, often in their homes, to expertly assemble IKEA media units and other flat-pack furniture. This is not just about putting pieces together; it’s about providing excellent customer service, ensuring satisfaction, and upholding the IKEA standard of quality and professionalism. You will be an ambassador for our brand, transforming boxes of parts into functional and beautiful furniture solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer locations within the Plymouth and surrounding Devon area for furniture assembly.
  • Perform skilled assembly of IKEA media units, shelving systems, and other flat-pack furniture items according to instructions.
  • Collaborate directly with clients to understand their needs, clarify placement, and address any concerns during the assembly process.
  • Ensure all assembled furniture is sturdy, level, and meets IKEA's quality standards.
  • Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor with all clients, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Handle tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Manage time effectively to complete assignments within scheduled windows.
  • Report any product defects or customer issues to the appropriate channels.
  • Keep work areas tidy and clean during and after assembly.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in assembling flat-pack furniture with attention to detail.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and comfort using various hand and power tools.

  • Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions accurately.

  • Reliable transportation to travel to client locations.

  • A valid UK driving license with a clean record.
