Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Billing Coding Trainee to join our administrative team in Moose Jaw. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in healthcare administration, specifically in medical billing and coding. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive on-the-job training in all aspects of medical billing, coding, and claims processing. This is an office-based position, crucial for hands-on learning and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and apply medical coding principles (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) under supervision.
  • Assist with the accurate preparation and submission of medical claims to various insurance providers.
  • Review patient records and medical documentation for billing accuracy.
  • Understand and interpret insurance policies and billing guidelines.
  • Follow up on outstanding claims and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  • Support the administrative team with general office duties as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development sessions.
