Job Description

Join BrightStar Care as a Part-time In-Home Care Aide, specializing in weekend shifts and leveraging your medical training to provide exceptional care to our clients in the Southwood Park area of Fort Wayne. This role is perfect for dedicated individuals looking to make a meaningful impact on weekends, offering vital support and companionship. You will assist clients with daily living activities, provide personal care, and support their overall well-being, utilizing your medical knowledge to ensure the highest standards of health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
  • Administer medication reminders and assist with mobility and transfers.
  • Monitor and report changes in client health status to the nursing supervisor.
  • Assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and grocery shopping.
  • Engage clients in stimulating activities and provide companionship.
  • Document care services provided accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all BrightStar Care policies, procedures, and client care plans.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients, minimizing risks and hazards.

Required Skills

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a home care or healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in basic medical care procedures and vital sign monitoring.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
  • Strong empathy, patience, and a compassionate demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience specifically with weekend shifts.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Experience working with clients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
  • Fluency in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish).
