Job Description
As a Traveling Pharmacy Technician with CVS Health, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care across various locations. This dynamic position requires a certified and highly adaptable technician willing to travel extensively to support our pharmacies, ensuring seamless operations and excellent patient service. You will be responsible for assisting pharmacists with dispensing medications, managing inventory, and providing outstanding customer support, all while adhering to strict regulatory guidelines. Key Responsibilities
- Travel frequently to various CVS Health pharmacy locations as assigned, often on short notice.
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Process prescription orders, manage patient profiles, and update medication records.
- Maintain accurate inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient inquiries and resolving issues with professionalism and empathy.
- Adhere strictly to all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and CVS Health policies and procedures.
- Operate pharmacy software systems and equipment proficiently.
- Support pharmacy operations with various tasks, including ringing up sales and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
- Assist with insurance claim processing and resolve billing discrepancies.
Required Skills
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification from PTCB or NHA.
- Active state pharmacy technician license/registration as required by Illinois and other states where assignments may occur.
- Proven ability to travel extensively and adapt to new work environments quickly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in pharmacy computer systems and point-of-sale software.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting.
- Experience with CVS Health pharmacy systems (e.g., RxConnect).
- Advanced certification or specialized training (e.g., Sterile Compounding, Immunization Support).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
