Job Description

Chegg is looking for an Online Proofreader to join our content team, specifically focusing on materials designed for 15-year-old students. In this fully remote role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the high quality and accuracy of our educational resources, ensuring they are free from grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and awkward phrasing. Your keen eye will help us deliver polished, professional, and easily understandable content that resonates with young learners and supports their academic success. Key Responsibilities

  • Proofread a variety of online educational content, including articles, study guides, homework help solutions, and interactive learning modules, tailored for 15-year-old teens.
  • Identify and correct errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and formatting.
  • Ensure consistency in style, tone, and vocabulary across all materials, adhering to Chegg's style guide.
  • Verify factual accuracy and clarity of information, flagging any potential ambiguities or inaccuracies for content creators.
  • Provide constructive feedback to content creators regarding common errors and areas for improvement.
  • Work efficiently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • Collaborate with content development teams to enhance overall content quality.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional command of the English language (US English), including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Proven attention to detail and ability to spot errors quickly and accurately.
  • Strong understanding of syntax and sentence structure.
  • Familiarity with style guides (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style, APA, or internal style guides).
