Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and community-minded 18-year-old individuals to join our team as a Library Technician. This stable, entry-level position is perfect for someone starting their career, eager to contribute to a public service environment, and passionate about supporting their community through access to literature and information. You will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our public libraries, helping to create a welcoming and organized space for patrons of all ages. Key Responsibilities
- Assist library patrons with locating books, resources, and information.
- Manage the circulation desk, including checking books in and out, processing new library card applications, and handling renewals.
- Organize and shelve library materials accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain the tidiness and order of library shelves, reading areas, and common spaces.
- Support library programs and events, including setup and takedown.
- Provide basic technical assistance for public computers and printing services.
- Assist with inter-library loans and material requests.
- Participate in opening and closing procedures for the library branch.
- Handle administrative tasks such as answering phones and responding to basic inquiries.
