Job Description
Are you passionate about helping people and eager to kickstart your career in customer support? Shopify is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Remote Customer Support Live Chat Agent. This is an entry-level position, and no prior experience is required – we provide comprehensive training to equip you with all the skills you need to succeed. As a Live Chat Agent, you will be the first point of contact for Shopify merchants, providing real-time assistance and solutions via chat to ensure their businesses run smoothly. This role is 100% remote, offering you the flexibility to work from the comfort of your home within Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional real-time customer support to Shopify merchants through live chat.
- Address merchant inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and guide them through using Shopify's platform and features.
- Research and identify solutions to complex customer problems efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times.
- Document customer interactions and solutions thoroughly in our CRM system.
- Collaborate with team members and escalate complex issues to senior support staff when necessary.
- Continuously learn and stay updated on Shopify products, services, and policies.
Required Skills
- Excellent written communication skills with strong grammar and spelling.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously.
- A quiet, dedicated workspace and reliable high-speed internet connection.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
- Empathy and patience when dealing with customer concerns.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- A genuine desire to help others and learn new skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with e-commerce platforms or online retail.
- Experience with any live chat or customer relationship management (CRM) software (even personal use).
- Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset for supporting our diverse merchant base in Canada, particularly in Quebec.
