Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dermatology Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team in New Port Richey. This pivotal role will focus on providing both cosmetic and medical dermatological care, ensuring patients receive comprehensive and personalized treatment plans. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of skin conditions, performing cosmetic procedures, and delivering exceptional patient education. You will work collaboratively with our dermatologists and support staff to uphold our commitment to excellence in patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive dermatological evaluations, including medical history review, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.
- Diagnose and treat common and complex skin conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin infections, and benign and malignant lesions.
- Perform various cosmetic procedures, such as Botox, dermal fillers, chemical peels, and laser treatments, according to established protocols.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including biopsies and lab work, to accurately diagnose skin conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, educating patients on their conditions, treatment options, and preventative care.
- Prescribe medications, topical treatments, and other therapies as appropriate.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and ensure continuity of care.
- Assist with minor surgical procedures and provide post-procedure care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and thorough electronic medical records (EMR) for all patient encounters.
- Collaborate effectively with dermatologists, medical assistants, and administrative staff to optimize clinic flow and patient satisfaction.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in dermatology and cosmetic procedures through continuing education and professional development.
Required Skills
- Current active Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Florida.
- Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP).
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a dermatology setting.
- Proficiency in performing dermatological examinations, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
- Experience with cosmetic procedures (e.g., injectables, lasers, chemical peels).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specific EMR systems used in dermatology.
- Membership in professional dermatology organizations (e.g., Dermatology Nurses' Association).
- Certification in specific cosmetic procedures.
