Job Description
Join Omnicare as a Long-Term Care (LTC) Pharmacy Technician, where you’ll play a vital role behind the scenes, ensuring the precise and timely delivery of medications to long-term care facilities. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Assist with medication packaging, labeling, and quality control processes specific to long-term care.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating pharmaceutical supplies.
- Maintain accurate patient profiles and prescription records.
- Operate and maintain pharmacy automation systems and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Participate in regular cycle counts and annual inventory reconciliation.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other team members to optimize workflow efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to strict safety and quality standards.
Required Skills
- Current Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) or equivalent state licensure/registration.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a long-term care, hospital, or institutional setting.
- Experience with pharmacy automation systems.
- Knowledge of medication compounding techniques.
