Job Description
Are you ready for a hands-on role that keeps you active and working outdoors? Coopers Marquees is seeking an enthusiastic and physically fit Marquee Rigger Assistant to join our vibrant team in Derby. This entry-level position is perfect for someone with a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, and a desire to learn a valuable trade. You’ll be instrumental in the setup and dismantle of our premium marquees, ensuring every structure is perfectly erected for a variety of events. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior riggers in the safe and efficient erection and dismantling of various marquee structures.
- Load and unload marquee equipment, including poles, canvas, flooring, and accessories, at our warehouse and on client sites.
- Transport equipment safely to and from event locations, adhering to all traffic and safety regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of marquee equipment, ensuring it is always in excellent condition.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety guidelines and company procedures at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure projects are completed on schedule and to the highest standards.
- Represent Coopers Marquees professionally while on client sites.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding manual labor, including heavy lifting.
- Ability to work effectively outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly motivated.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work safely.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- A full, clean UK driving license (Category B minimum) is highly advantageous.
- Experience with basic hand tools and power tools.
- Previous experience in a similar outdoor, physical role (e.g., construction, landscaping, events setup).
- Basic First Aid certification.
