Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nurse Educator to join our hospital staff training team in Frisco, TX. This pivotal role involves designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for our nursing staff to enhance clinical competence, promote evidence-based practice, and ensure the highest quality of patient care. The Nurse Educator will play a crucial part in orientation, ongoing professional development, and the successful integration of new clinical initiatives. This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, offering a consistent schedule focused on empowering our healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive educational programs, curricula, and modules for nursing staff across various departments.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify learning gaps and educational priorities for nurses at all levels of experience.
  • Provide engaging and effective in-service training, workshops, and simulations to foster skill development and knowledge acquisition.
  • Facilitate the orientation process for new nursing hires, ensuring a smooth transition and foundational understanding of hospital policies and procedures.
  • Mentor and precept nursing staff, offering guidance and support in clinical practice and professional growth.
  • Stay current with evidence-based practices, clinical guidelines, and technological advancements in healthcare to integrate into educational content.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders and managers to ensure educational initiatives align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of educational activities and participation for compliance and professional development tracking.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous learning within the hospital.

Required Skills

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting.
  • Demonstrated ability in adult learning principles, curriculum development, and instructional design.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and simulation tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Master's in Education (M.Ed.) with a nursing focus.
  • Certification in Nursing Professional Development (NPD) or a clinical specialty.
  • Previous experience as a Nurse Educator, Clinical Instructor, or Preceptor.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
