Job Description
Join Brookdale Senior Living as a Resident Assistant (Nursing Support) and become a vital part of our compassionate care team. In this role, you will provide direct support and assistance to our residents with their daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity are maintained at all times. Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
- Respond promptly to resident calls and requests for assistance.
- Monitor and record residents' vital signs and report any changes in condition to nursing staff.
- Assist with medication reminders and documentation as per facility policy.
- Encourage resident participation in social activities and community programs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for residents.
- Document care provided and observations accurately and timely.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members.
- Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and state regulations.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a caregiving role (personal care, home health, assisted living) preferred but not strictly required.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and care principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Experience working with individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
- Prior experience in an assisted living or long-term care facility.
