Job Description
Join UPS as a Feeder Driver and become a critical part of our expansive logistics network. This role focuses on the safe and efficient transportation of trailers between UPS facilities, operating primarily on dedicated routes. As a ‘No-Touch Freight’ position, your primary responsibility will be driving, without the requirement for loading or unloading packages. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailer combinations over long distances between UPS hubs and designated locations.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers to ensure operational safety and compliance.
- Adhere strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company safety policies, and all applicable traffic laws.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) and complete all required paperwork.
- Ensure timely and efficient delivery of freight, meeting scheduled departure and arrival times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding any delays, issues, or equipment concerns.
- Operate vehicles in varying weather conditions and maintain a clean driving record.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no preventable accidents or serious moving violations in the past 3 years
- Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and background check
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles
- Familiarity with ELD systems and DOT regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with doubles/triples endorsements
- Knowledge of local and regional routes in Florida
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
