Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Venture Capital Deal Flow Intern to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the venture capital ecosystem, focusing specifically on deal sourcing and market research. The intern will play a critical role in identifying potential investment opportunities, analyzing market trends, and supporting the initial stages of our investment process. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship, looking to build a career in venture capital.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, new technologies, and promising industries relevant to BDC Capital's investment theses.
- Proactively source and identify potential investment opportunities by utilizing various platforms, databases, industry events, and network connections.
- Perform initial due diligence on prospective companies, including financial analysis, competitive landscape assessment, and team evaluation.
- Prepare concise summaries and brief investment memos for internal review, highlighting key findings and potential risks/opportunities.
- Assist in managing and tracking the deal pipeline, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Support the investment team with various tasks, including presentation preparation, data analysis, and ad-hoc research projects.
- Build and maintain a robust network within the startup and venture capital community.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Self-starter with a proactive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated interest in venture capital, startups, technology, or finance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous internship experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or a startup environment.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and deal flow management tools.
- Understanding of financial modeling and valuation concepts.
