Job Description
Are you passionate about helping students grasp challenging concepts and succeed academically? MyTutor is seeking enthusiastic Virtual Homework Helpers to provide online academic support to students in various subjects. This is a 100% remote, part-time position with flexible evening and weekend hours, perfect for those looking to make a positive impact on students’ learning journeys from anywhere. You will assist students with homework, clarify topics, and build their confidence through engaging online sessions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one virtual homework assistance to students in various subjects (e.g., Maths, English, Science).
- Explain complex concepts clearly and patiently, adapting to individual learning styles.
- Review student assignments, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
- Help students develop effective study habits and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain a supportive, encouraging, and productive learning environment.
- Track student progress and report on assistance provided.
- Adhere to MyTutor's safeguarding and quality standards.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in at least one core academic subject (e.g., Maths, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
- Strong ability to explain concepts clearly and simply.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students learn.
- High level of organisation and time management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or a graduate of a university degree programme.
- Previous experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring.
- Familiarity with online learning platforms and tools.
- Knowledge of the UK national curriculum.
